In addition, our Redbird full-motion flight simulator offers our students the ability to sharpen their skills and realistically simulate more advanced scenarios in the classroom environment.

Training Budget + Timeline

The exact number of hours to obtain your Private Pilot License varies by individual and depends upon how long it takes you to safely master the objectives along the way. On average, students accumulate 65 hours prior to taking their test. What remains constant is that we will always place our primary emphasis on creating safe and proficient pilots.

We have students that fly a couple of times a week, and students that fly every day. We are open seven days a week and will meet with you to tailor a program to meet your needs and work around your busy schedule.

Curriculum

Students at our Cessna Pilot Center learn in the aircraft as well as in the classroom. Our ground school curriculum is a powerful and interactive online training program designed to be at your own pace and to work in conjunction with your flight training.

We offer training for Private, Instrument, Commercial and Certified Flight Instructor ratings.

Instructors

Our team of experienced FAA certified flight instructors come from a background of corporate, airline and other aviation experiences – but all bring a wealth of knowledge and the ability to teach students utilizing a variety of different learning styles. Instructors participate in continuing education programs, and put together periodic seminars for our students. At Big Sky Aviation, we believe that creating opportunities for our students and pilots to further their education creates camaraderie and fosters a safer airport environment for all of us.

When you begin your flight training, your instructor will meet with you to discuss your timeline, objectives and any other concerns or questions you may have about the program. They’ll work to develop a flight training program and path that will allow you to achieve your goals.
